I provided illustrations and animations for the live dance-accompanied adaptation of Van Broh’s debut album, held at the National Sawdust Theatre in February 2019.
I worked with Shakeil Greeley to gather visual reference, iterate on ideas, and create assets, providing the atmosphere for the performance. Shakeil and I both collaborated closely with motion designer Nicholas DiMichele to coordinate the timing of visuals, music, and choreography to bring the show to life. Many of the animated sequences I created under Shakeil’s direction were used to give the audience a greater narrative context for the dancer’s performances.
Animations created to transition from the battle of the final act into the spoken-word epilogue

- The Lazer Beam of Destiny -
This lazer asset was used to create believable stage interaction with the performance of the titular Lazer Eyes character.
Many of the illustrated assets that I worked on were composited into animated sequences by Nicholas DiMechele for the live show. They were also valuable marketing assets - our team implemented them as promo images for social media, event programs for the final show and earlier development workshops, as well as merchandising.
